  1. Although not as great an album as this, the October Country reissue was well done with a good transfer, decent liner notes and bonus tracks. A while ago I had read somewhere that Michael Lloyd was negotiating the re-release of the Smoke album and expected it to get the same treatment as October Country/5(11).
  2. Copies of the Smoke's self-titled album are highly valued by collectors of West Coast soft rock and psychedelic music. The album certainly deserves its reputation as one of the masterpieces of It opens with the organ-driven "Cowboys and Indians," which was producer/songwriter Michael Lloyd's personal homage to Brian Wilson's "Heroes and Villains" and lyrically makes mention of war.

  8. Smooth Smokey at the end of the 70s – an album that has him moving from the Quiet Storm sound into the more hook-based style that would earn him a fair bit of hits in the 80s! The Robinson vocal approach is always sweet, warm, and mellow on the set – especially on the album's more laidback numbers, which still have a bit of that groove that made Smokey's other 70s work so great.
